At the heart of Julia’s success with her extensive experience in consulting and facilitating in the public sector is that she, herself, has been a leader and manager in the sector and can talk the talk, walk the walk, and draw upon her own experience of public sector life. All of this contributes to Julia’s highly credible, approachable and practical way of being with people. Her work has focused on consulting, coaching, designing, facilitating, and reviewing in the areas of change and transition management; executive, middle management and frontline management development; building high performance teams; coaching, mentoring and facilitation development. Underpinning her approach to this work is a deep belief in action learning, appreciative approaches and supporting people to learn in the very individual ways that best suit them. Currently, Julia works across a significant number of public sector organisations, is on preferred provider panels for several, and is well recognised for the contribution she makes. He is a skilled facilitator with experience involving people from all levels of an organisation. Over the past 20 years, he has facilitated many groups, often when difficult issues required resolution. After resigning from the Public Service in 2001, Andrew set up a consulting business (Andrew Rooney & Associates P/L), focused on people development – leadership and team development, coaching, communication skill building, facilitation, etc. Whilst clients are mainly government agencies, they include some large and small private organisations. He is known for his ability to establish an easy rapport with clients, quickly comprehend their situation and work with them in a supportive manner to identify and confront the systemic and individual issues that need resolution in order for them to achieve their goals.
